#2050StartsToday Conference: some updates of interest

By Miriam Eisermann on 1 February 2017

Join Energy Cities’ Conference to meet with your peers and experience Energiewende hands-on in Stuttgart (Germany), well-known for its industrial activity as well as for its foresighted climate and energy policy.

Some updates of interest:

Wednesday April 26th - ENERGY TOURS

You will have the opportunity to take in site visits to clean energy and sustainable urbanism installations around Stuttgart. http://stuttgart2017.energy-cities.eu/Visits.html
Thursday April 27th - INSPIRING TALK

The motivational talk by Harald Welzer, social psychologist and Director of Futurzwei Foundation will bring positive thoughts in dull times: A new society through energy policy: how much people power is possible?
Friday April 28th - ENGAGING PLENARY

Energiewende, European export hit or slow seller?
The German Energiewende is a radical shift and marks a clear direction towards an energy future without fossil and fissile sources. This bold political decision has drawn a lot of international attention mixing both, admiration and scepticism. Where does the implementation of the energy transition stand today? Is the political will unbowed and the community energy still a pillar of the transition? What hurdles do slow the process? And what opportunities or challenges does the German energy strategy bring to the European neighbours?

During 3 days, Stuttgart will serve as a learning place on the societal, cultural, economic and technological shifts that come with the energy transition in Europe.

Registration opens mid-February
